Do you want to face Serra da Estrela Granfondo, and you don’t know how to train for a epic challenge like this one?

Granfondo Serra da Estrela, in partnership with coach Miguel Ganchinho, will provide a 3-month training plan, starting on March 31, 2025, which you can use as a basis in your specific preparation for this challenge.

It is important to be aware of your initial physical condition, carry out a prior assessment, which allows you to get to know yourself better, as well as know your training rhythms/zones, to prepare yourself as effectively as possible for this challenge.

In basic preparation to overcome this challenge, increase your resistance and your performance by climbing, increasing the distance of your training, and also adding more altitude. Try to get to a level where at least twice a month you do a workout over double digits or more than 4 or 5 hours and once a month you do this on a course with some longer climbs, trying to get to at least 2,000 m of accumulated discharges. This way, when you get to the beginning of the specific training plan, you will already have the basic preparation to face it.
